Data Deletion

This page explains how to remove the data Bardiyah received from Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), and how to check the status of a deletion request. To delete your Bardiyah account itself, see the Delete Account page instead.

What Meta Data We Store

When you connect a Facebook or Instagram account, we store only what is needed to publish and read back your own content:

  • meta_user_id — your Meta user identifier.
  • access_token and page_access_token — the tokens that authorise the connection.
  • facebook_page_id and facebook_page_name — the page you linked.
  • instagram_business_account_id and instagram_username — the Instagram business account you linked.
  • available_pages — the list of pages the connection may act on.
  • granted_scopes — the permissions you approved.

We do not store your Facebook password, your friends list, or your private messages.

How To Remove It

There are three routes, and all three delete the same records:

  1. In Bardiyah — open Settings, find the connected Facebook or Instagram account, and disconnect it.
  2. From Facebook — open Settings and Privacy, then Apps and Websites, and remove Bardiyah. Facebook then notifies us automatically through our data deletion callback, and the deletion happens without any further action from you.
  3. By request — use the contact form on this website from the email address linked to your account and state that your request concerns Meta data.

What Happens, And When

Removal is immediate. The connection record, its tokens, and the linked page and account identifiers are deleted from our live systems as the request is processed — there is no queue and no waiting period.

Removing Meta data does not delete your Bardiyah account, your projects, or your scripts. It ends the connection and erases what we received from Meta.

Checking A Request

When Facebook notifies us on your behalf, we return a confirmation code beginning with SH- and a status URL of the form /data-deletion/status/{code}. Opening that URL shows whether the request was received and when it was completed. Confirmation codes are retained as the record that the request was honoured.
